Profile
Develops solutions connecting design, fabrication, electronics and software. Since 2018 he has run YLHDs, addressing client needs and personal projects from concept through fabrication, testing and delivery. His earlier background in administration, finance and operations brings business understanding, organization and experience leading teams.
His design approach starts with understanding who a solution serves and why. He connects function, form, materials, interaction, fabrication and cost, applying this thinking to objects, interfaces and digital services. He studied Industrial Design at UCASAL; the degree is incomplete.
Lucas originates the ideas and initiatives behind his projects. He defines needs and behavior, chooses tools, directs iterations and validates results. Since March 2026 he has used AI to develop code and examine ideas, expanding what he can build with available resources. This does not imply independent programming or specialist expertise in every technology used. He brings his own computing foundation and practical programming knowledge: he understands what tools are for, explores how they work and takes part in integration decisions. The work combines that foundation with learning, research and validation of results.
At eight he discovered the Commodore 64, copying simple BASIC programs from a book and playing games loaded from cassette with a Datasette. An XT clone PC came later, followed by computing courses in Salta between 1990 and 1992. From the 2000s onward he regularly maintained PC hardware and installed and maintained Windows 95, 98, ME, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 and 11. He later added six years of practical Linux use on his own systems, using Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Omarchy.
Six years of practical Linux use on his own systems: Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Arch Linux through Omarchy. Installation, configuration, maintenance and integration through research, documentation and assistance as needed; not six years of professional Linux or cloud administration employment.
Independent learning
Combines guided courses with independent exploration: keeps notes, practises, consults documentation and learns while solving needs in his devices and projects. His computing foundation predates his use of AI.
Keeps an Obsidian vault from the ONE pathway and JavaScript exercises: a secret-number game, conditionals, loops, functions, lists and interaction with HTML. Notes also cover HTML/CSS, Flexbox, responsive layouts and Git/GitHub. These are learning materials, not commercial projects.
From practical hardware and Windows work through Linux, printer firmware and system integration, applies knowledge expanded through research and assistance tools. Takes part in defining, testing and evaluating what he builds.
Participated in ONE and explored CS50 Python without completing either full pathway. He reports that a late submission interrupted continuity in ONE and he did not resume it. Preserved notes and exercises document part of his learning.
Lucas values dynamic learning, exploration, connections between subjects and clear explanations. He seeks challenges that open possibilities and allow experimentation, rather than difficulty for its own sake. In Industrial Design he hoped for a more agile pace and creative, participatory teaching; financial constraints also affected his ability to continue. He values what he learned and achieved during that period, without reducing the experience to criticism of the institution.

Result: Lucas uses it to manage his business and issue invoices; the system continues to evolve.
Kits sold to makers
Totem Arena 26
A physical arena or stadium with modular stands and collectible NFC totems connects the object to Totem Dash: tapping a phone opens a web game experience with rankings and multipliers.
Contribution: Lucas conceives the experience, models parts, prepares chips and materials and proposes a distributed manufacturing network. His first working AI-assisted project, started in Google AI Studio.
Result: 7 makers purchased kits to take part in the concept. According to Lucas, there were no sales to end consumers.
Interactive prototype
Phygital Signage Plus
A visitor’s phone controls content and games on a screen through QR or NFC, without installing an application.
Contribution: Visitor/screen flow design, experience selection and integration of playback, remote control and panels with AI assistance.
Result: The prototype brings together a screen, phone control and management panel, with audiovisual content and games.
In domestic use
Smart Gateway
A passive QR/NFC plaque opens a web doorbell; interaction triggers a notification in the recipient’s own applications.
Contribution: Lucas conceives the app-free visitor flow, designs the physical piece and integrates web, notifications and native clients with AI assistance.
Result: Works at his home according to his validation. The plaque needs no power supply; the service relies on a phone and digital infrastructure. It does not prove geographic proximity.
Mentoring prototype
Smart Dock 360
An NFC desktop dock conceived for mentoring: a person taps their phone on the object to reach a digital space for content, milestones and professional guidance.
Contribution: Physical/digital service concept, dock design and definition of professional and user roles; AI-assisted implementation.
Result: The prototype brings together the object design and sources for the panel and user environment; student use and outcomes have not been validated.
Object fabricated and delivered
Cardio Lamp
A heart-shaped lamp that responds to touch by changing lighting scenes and rhythms. A fabricated and delivered object combining 3D printing, electronics and interaction.
Contribution: Lucas used an AI-generated visual reference and worked through its transition into an object: model, base, component enclosure, fabrication and lighting tests. He integrated the touch sensor and directed the assisted firmware development.
Result: The finished piece combines form, light diffusion and gesture-controlled illumination. The recordings show the object and its lighting response; it is an expressive representation, not a medical instrument.
Exploratory MVP
Smart Dining Core
A concept for restaurants connecting guests, staff, kitchen and venue screen: from the table people can explore ordering and service alongside music and social participation.
Contribution: Lucas defines the concept and the flows between table, staff and screen. When the form is still open, he uses AI-generated images for inspiration and decides whether to follow or depart from them; he directs assisted development.
Result: The exploratory MVP brings together interfaces for customers, venue staff, administration and screen. A commercial demonstration took place; it does not establish venue adoption.
